Scheduled maintenance is where long-term reliability is built or surrendered. European vehicles have specific fluid specifications, service intervals, and component requirements that differ meaningfully from domestic vehicles — and from each other. Using the wrong oil viscosity, skipping a DSG service, or substituting brake fluid are all decisions that accumulate into larger repair bills over time. We follow manufacturer specifications. Every time.

Oil & Fluid Service

European engines require specific oil specifications — BMW Longlife-01, Mercedes-Benz 229.5, Volkswagen 502.00/504.00, Porsche A40. Using the wrong viscosity or certification level causes measurable long-term wear on engines that are engineered to tight tolerances. We source the correct specification for every platform through our Worldpac supply network and use Liqui-Moly premium fluids exclusively.

Brake Service

Brake pads and rotors on European vehicles are matched systems — compound and rotor metallurgy are engineered together for stopping performance and wear characteristics. Economy pads on European rotors overheat, glaze, and wear unevenly. We use Textar, ATE, and Brembo OEM-grade components exclusively. Brake fluid is replaced on schedule — European manufacturers recommend every two years because hygroscopic fluid absorbs moisture and raises boiling point concerns on performance platforms.

Suspension & Steering

Control arm bushings, tie rod ends, sway bar links, and wheel bearings are wear items that affect both handling and tire wear. European suspension components are engineered to tight tolerances and don't respond well to economy-grade replacements that are close but not spec. We inspect suspension condition as part of every service visit and advise on actual wear — not preventive upsells.

Scheduled Intervals

Service interval lights tell you when the manufacturer has scheduled a maintenance event — they don't tell you the full condition of the vehicle. Every service visit at Lux AutoHause includes a thorough inspection that goes beyond the scheduled items. We document what we find, prioritize by urgency, and walk you through the results before recommending anything.

Routine maintenance done correctly is the most cost-effective thing you can do for a European vehicle. The repairs that become expensive — timing components, transmission rebuilds, engine damage from oil degradation — almost always have a maintenance history that explains them. We keep that history for every vehicle we service and advise based on what we see, not what the mileage number suggests.
